Incoming out-of-state and international students may be eligible for merit-based waivers of all or part of the out-of-state portion of tuition based on academic performance in high school, for incoming freshmen, or based on college GPA, for incoming transfer students with less than 90 credit hours. This scholarship allows students to pay in-state tuition rates instead of out of state tuition rates and it is not a tuition free scholarship. No application is required, priority is given to students who have applied by March 1 and awards are made depending on the availability of funds. If you receive this award, then it is renewable based on maintaining full-time enrollment status at Georgia State University and at least a 3.0 Georgia State institutional GPA. The categories for this scholarship are listed in the table below.
Recipients will see the award listed in their application status check under the scholarship letter link and must digitally accept the award contract online. Awards will be applied to students’ accounts approximately two weeks before the fee payment deadline and only after registration for at least the minimum of 12 credit hours has been verified.

Please be aware that the Campus Atlanta Scholarship will be put on the university system approximately two weeks before the fee payment deadline. The award will only show on your student account after you have registered for the required 12 credit hours, and it may take up to 5 business days after registering for classes before the award is applied to your account. For these reasons, register for classes as early as possible. Additionally, if you make adjustments to your class schedule, make sure to allow 24 hours for the Campus Atlanta Scholarship award amounts to adjust accordingly and reflect in your student account before paying the balance due.
