There is an academic progress evaluation at the end of each semester. Academic Warning status lasts for one semester during which the student may continue to be eligible for financial aid.
The student will be placed in a warning status and must meet all SAP standards during the term. If the student meets the standards, he or she will continue to receive financial aid. If the student does not meet all the SAP standards, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility until all the SAP standards have been met for financial aid to be reinstated. Students are notified that they are on academic warning and should seek academic advisement.
This is a status assigned to a student who is failing to make satisfactory academic progress and who successfully appeals. If your appeal is approved, you will be monitored for one semester for improvement and/or adherence to the terms of your probation. While on probation, you are expected to complete all of your courses with the required semester GPA. Grades of F, W, WF, I, IP or U are considered unsatisfactory. At the conclusion of the probation term, you must be meeting the school’s SAP standard in order to qualify for further financial aid.

This is a status assigned to a student who is failing to make satisfactory academic progress and who successfully appeals. The first term of the plan is considered to be probation; the plan usually includes multiple terms. An Academic Plan is used to monitor academic success. You will be monitored each semester for improvement and/or adherence to the terms of the plan. You are expected to complete all of your courses with the required semester GPA. You cannot receive any adverse grades.
Following this plan successfully will ensure the student to meet the required standards for financial aid. It allows the student to either regain aid eligibility by meeting SAP standards or complete the program of study.
Your appeal of mitigating circumstances will be reviewed by the SAP Committee in the Office of Student Financial Aid. If your appeal is approved you will regain eligibility for financial aid. Your conditions will continue for each semester until you meet the minimum standards, or fail to meet the conditions. If you fail to meet the conditions prior to meeting the minimum standard, you will once again be ineligible for financial aid.
If your appeal is denied, you may submit a secondary appeal to the Office of Student Financial Aid if you are providing new information that was not considered in your original appeal.
After your appeal is received, you will be notified by mail within 30 business days or less on whether your appeal was granted or denied. Please prepare to pay tuition and fees by other means while your appeal is under review.
