Workshops

The Scholarship Resource Center is open to all students, and potential students without appointment during walk-in hours. Our workshops are open to all Georgia State University students and advance registration is not required.

We are currently offering two workshops to assist your with your search and developing a competitive essay. “How to Find Scholarships” will cover the basics of how to search and apply for scholarships and “Writing a Winning Essay” unlocks the secrets of writing an award-winning competitive essay. Please bring your essay for a critique during this workshop.

Writing a Winning Essay

This workshop unlocks the secrets of what sets a scholarship winner apart from thousands of candidates — the personal essay! Learn how to create a winning essay by avoiding common mistakes, understanding what the judges want to see, and reviewing winning essays and essays that failed. If you have already written a personal essay that needs work, don’t be afraid to bring it!
